Design of and Experiment on Reciprocating Inter-Row Weeding Machine for Strip-Seeded Rice

To solve the problems of high labor costs, a low weeding rate and seedling injury in direct seeding rice fields, this paper presents reciprocating inter-row machine for strip-seeded rice. The uses combination wheels shovels to improve efficiency between rows. Its mechanism was designed optimized. simulation model teeth–paddy soil interaction established EDEM. structural parameters teeth were optimized, bending angle optimized 55°. A prototype trial production field tests carried out. results showed that prototype’s 80.2% 85.3% 3.5% 5.1% when working speed 1~3 km h−1. faster prototype, lower higher rate.
